By accessing or using big4transparency.com(the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Site.
Who We Are
Big 4 Transparency is operated by 14234235 Canada Inc., a corporation incorporated under the laws of Canada. We operate a crowdsourced salary database and talent platform for accounting and finance professionals.
Use of the Site
You may use the Site for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to access and use the Site in accordance with these Terms. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason.
User-Submitted Data
By submitting data to the Site, you confirm that:
- the information you submit is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- you have the right to share it (including under applicable labour and employment laws);
- you grant Big 4 Transparency a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, aggregate, display, and distribute your submission in anonymized or aggregated form.
We reserve the right to remove any submission at our sole discretion, including submissions we reasonably believe are false, misleading, or submitted in bad faith.
No Professional Advice
Nothing on this Site constitutes legal, financial, tax, career, or professional advice of any kind. All data is provided for informational purposes only. You should not make employment, compensation, or career decisions based solely on data from this Site. Big 4 Transparency is not responsible for any decisions made in reliance on information found here.
Talent Pool
The Talent Pool is a voluntary service through which candidates may submit their professional profile to be considered for introductions to hiring firms. By submitting a Talent Pool profile, you agree that Big 4 Transparency may share your profile with firms it determines to be a potential fit, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Participation in the Talent Pool does not guarantee an introduction, interview, or offer of employment. Big 4 Transparency acts solely as a facilitator and is not a party to any employment relationship.
Intellectual Property
All content on this Site — including text, design, code, logos, and aggregated data compilations — is the property of 14234235 Canada Inc. and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, scrape, redistribute, or create derivative works from any content on this Site without our express written permission.
Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- submit false, fabricated, or deliberately misleading salary data;
- use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or bulk-download data from the Site;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, interfere with, or disrupt the Site or its infrastructure;
- use the Site to harass, defame, or harm any individual or organization;
- impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any firm.
Disclaimers
The Site and all content are provided “as is”and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the data is accurate, complete, current, or free from errors. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Big 4 Transparency and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, including but not limited to damages arising from reliance on user-submitted data, loss of employment, or missed opportunities. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed CAD $100.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Big 4 Transparency and its affiliates from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your submissions, or your violation of these Terms.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when changes are made.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
